Suniva Designs and Commissions First Commercial PV System in Mexico

Date£º2013/7/27

July 25, 2013 - Suniva today announced the completion of its first commissioning of a commercial PV system in Mexico.

The 500KW system was designed, installed and commissioned on-site in Queretaro, Mexico under the supervision of Suniva in partnership with Radiance Solar and Grupo Metal Intra (GMI). The PV system, Powered by Suniva, uses 1632 Suniva OPT300 high-powered modules and SMA's Sunny Central inverter. The power produced by the array will flow into the Mexican grid to power a substantial amount of the factory operations at a GMI manufacturing facility. The system started energy production on Friday, July 19th.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States and their affiliate UPS Capital provided financing for the system and installation.

"Completing Suniva's first full system installation in Mexico from the design to the final grid connection has been a collaborative effort. Working with GMI on installation of the racking and wiring and Radiance on design and grid interconnection has been a great experience," said Sol Haroon, lead systems engineer, Suniva.
