Bulgaria cuts FiT by 39%

Date£º2012/9/21

Bulgaria¡¯s State Commission on Energy and Water Regulation has released a preliminary report of feed-in tariff prices for renewable energy sources, stating a 5-39% cut of the feed-in tariff for PV. According to the document, the implementation of the prices is based on applications from the electricity system operator and the operators of the distribution grids (EVN, Energo Pro and CEZ).

From September 18, plants commissioned January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012 experienced a 39% cut in FiT. From July 1, 2012 until August 31, 2012, plants suffered a further 5% cut which has resulted in tariffs set at around €0.195 for plants up to 5kW. Plants up to 1,000kW will receive approximately €0.105.

However, law firm Wolf Theiss advised Solar Server that because the State Commission on Energy and Water Regulation completed the report behind closed doors, enterprises concerned will be able to file appeals through Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court until September 28.
