Greece approves 131.074MW solar park

The construction of 39 PV parks by Spes Solaris and Solar Concept has been approved through a fast track process by the Greek Ministry of Finance¡¯s Interministerial Committee for Strategic Investments. The projects will be constructed in Thessaly, the Peloponnese and central and western Greece and are expected to have a total output of 131, 074MW, worth €301, 470 million.

The project is hoped to create around 500 jobs, reduce CO2 emissions by 200,000 tons and generate a much-needed €100 million of tax revenue.

In March this year, Q-Cells¡¯ also proposed the development of four new PV power plants totalling 2.4MW in Thessaly.
